Our property extends over 33 hectares of vines, mainly Bordeaux and Bordeaux Superieur appellation (20 ha) and AOC Fronsac (13 ha) with the Château Tour Bel Air located at Saillans.
More than 80% of our vines are grown on clayey-limestone slopes, and this is what allows the grapes to benefit from natural drainage and from optimal sun exposure. We benefit from a North-East/South-West orientation.
The breakdown of our grape varieties are as following :
Red Grape Varieties over 27 ha (Merlot : 80% ; Cabernet Sauvignon : 13.5 % ; Cabernet Franc : 6.5 %)
White Grape Varieties over 3 ha (Sauvignon : 75% ; Muscadelle : 24% ; Sémilion : 1%)
The density of planting can vary depending on the land parcel from between 3,300 up to 6,500 plants/ha.
The growing technique and methods we apply are the ones used in prestigious world-class Châteaux such as :
- A double Guyot method of growing
- Natural growth between the rows of vines
- Leaf stripping
- Green harvesting
- Mechanical harvesters for reds
